The workshop will be divided into sessions based on seven central themes:

1. Standardization of data collection, preprocessing and diagnostic algorithms

2. Standardization of sample preparation and fixation of cytological samples

3. Standardization of sample preparation and fixation of histological samples

4. Comparison and standardization of different instruments; issues of data point spacing and data acquisition

5. Discussions on the importance of experimental design, i.e. the need for confirming experiments.

6. Discussions regarding what is a "statistically significant" number of samples, methods of ensuring validation, i.e. confirming the robustness of the algorithms by employing datasets obtained from different instruments.

7. Vendors: Discussion of standardization from the manufacturers' point of view
